Before reading the article, note that "An in-kind
grant contribution (gift in kind) is when a foundation or other entity
contributes a good or service in lieu of providing monetary grants. In-kind
contributions support the programs or daily operations of an
organization. "
I know you are not all economic experts, but for our
discussion think about:
- Who do you think is benefiting the most from this
decision, and who is 'paying' (literally or figuratively)
- Do you agree with the legislation, or find it necessary in
some way? Why or why not?
- Generally speaking, how do you feel about in-kind benefits
and social security in Spain? How would you describe the social security
system to someone (like me) who knew very little about it?
- The end of the article makes a brief point about where
restaurants fit in with all of this. What do you think? Are restaurants
themselves losing money?
